Sisterhood of the Traveling Wedding Welcome Sign
When Rachael reached out to me about creating welcome signs for her wedding, I was thrilled! After seeing the signs I crafted for Mickey’s wedding, she wanted something special for her big day. Having known Rachael’s fiancé, Bryce, since childhood, it felt even more meaningful to lend my creative touch to their celebration.

Rachael sent over some design inspiration she found on Pinterest, and I immediately got to work. My goal was to create an original design that captured their love story while complementing the wedding theme. Once we finalized the design, I was ready to bring it to life!
A Sustainable Twist: Reusing Mickey’s Wedding Sign
In the spirit of sustainability and creativity, Mickey and I decided to loan Rachael her wedding welcome sign instead of building a new one. I carefully removed the original letters from Mickey’s sign and gave the entire sign a fresh coat of crisp white paint. This not only revitalized the sign but also provided a clean, elegant backdrop for Rachael’s custom lettering.
Using my Glowforge laser cutter, I cut out the welcome letters and their names, carefully considering the durability for the wedding day festivities. After learning from the creation of Mickey’s sign, I decided to thicken the letters this time around to withstand any bumps along the way.
I used my Cricut to cut out the other text in vinyl. Rachael requested all black letters to match her bridesmaids’ dresses, and I couldn’t wait to see how it all came together. I painted the laser-cut letters with black acrylic paint to match the black vinyl.
Attaching the letters to the sign frame was the final touch. I used double-sided 3M tape, making sure everything was secure and ready for display.
When the sign was complete, I couldn’t help but admire how beautiful it turned out. The bold black letters really popped against the soft pink flowers arranged by Rachael’s florist, creating a perfect focal point for their wedding.
It was a joy to contribute to such a special occasion, and I was so excited to see the photos and how the wedding welcome sign added to the atmosphere of their celebration. Here’s to love, creativity, and the sisterhood of the traveling wedding welcome sign! 🌸✨
